Personalized Physiotherapy Care Tailored to You

What’s Included in Your Assessment

Injury History and Observation / Understanding your Injury
Your physiotherapist will ask about your current symptoms, when and how they started, what makes them better or worse, and how they are affecting your everyday activities. We will also discuss previous injuries, surgery, medical history, exercise, work and lifestyle in order to understand the full picture as opposed to where it only hurts.

Strength & range testing / Movement, Strength & Flexibility Testing
The next step is to assess how your body moves, depending on your particular concern, your physio will check movement, muscle strength, flexibility, balance or functional movements such as walking, squatting, reaching or lifting. These tests allow us to identify your areas of weakness, stiffness as well as serving as a baseline to measure your progress over time.

Special clinical Tests
In special cases, our physios will need to examine a particular joint, muscle, tendon, ligament or other structure through specialised tests in order to help narrow down the root of the problem. Based on your individual presentation, your assessment will be focused on what is relevant to you rather than a generalised list that could be applied to anyone

Palpation / Hands-on Assessment
Your physiotherapist may use gentle hands-on technique to assess the muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissues to gain additional information along with the special clinical and strength and flexibility tests.

Diagnosis & Treatment Plan / Your Results & Personalised Treatment Plan
After your assessment, your physio will discuss the likely factors contributing to your symptoms and what the recovery will involve as well as the treatment options most suitable for you. Depending on your needs, it may incorporate exercise rehabilitation, hands-on therapy, joint or soft tissue techniques, activity modification and other physiotherapy techniques. Our goal at Herbs & Motion isn’t to simply provide short-term symptom relief, it is to help you understand your body and rebuild confidence in movement and work towards lasting improvement.
